Software is not just for ERP, CRM or Accounting. Your Factory, Phone, Fridge, Car, TV, DVD, in fact every modern device uses software.

I started professional software development in 1985. But have been writing programs since 1981.

At the time (1981) there were hardly any computer courses nor was the internet available, and we had to learn the hard way, through experimentation.  We are pioneers and experts, and, I guess, the reason why that we are able to negotiate all modern technologies effectively. After all, Volts, Amperes, Watts, Bits, Bytes, MHz, etc., are still the basis of all computing and electronics.

Since then I have had experience in developing management software (ERP, eCommerce, ...) for allmost (if not all) industries. This has given me the unique opportunity of having insights into how business work and their respective work ethics. This ever growing knowledge has been an advantage for my clients and associates as I have been able to demonstrate a unique ability in negotiating requirements with a marketing perspective. This knowledge, I believe, cannot be earned in a class room.

In addition to management software, I have also undertaken many other projects which involve non traditional software, such as Mobile phone programming, Automobile control systems, Voice Over Internet protocols, Software for the various electronic projects I undertook and in general, experimentation with all devices which have software built into it.

I believe, I was able to develop efficient software as I have a knowledge of how the electronics work and what to expect of the various components of a computer. For example, a 3GHz computer can be as fast as its Memory or Bus Speed is as, after all, the memory and the system bus have a direct relationship to the speed of which a processor can read and write to memory and other devices connected to it.

By far, Software development has been my main source of revenue up until 2003. I employ a team of programmers who actually carry out routine development and support work as I now only take part in development of technologies as a 'chief technology architect'.

With the consultancy assignments I would 'recommend' a suitable product to purchase, etc. as opposed to supplying my own software products (an objective recommndation is made).

  Databases: PICK/Database, SQL 6.5/7, MySQL, ProgerSQL, MS-ACCESS, dBase/Fox Pro (flat file database), also a Custom developed database in C language to cater for my customers who required a powerful database at a nominal cost, prior to 1995. This database was DOS based and supported 128 concurrent users with true record locking.
