Everything is Electronic!

I have had hands on experience in electronics from Valves (Vacuum Tubes) to the latest VLSI devices.

At first, it was building crystal radios and small amplifiers to versatile AM, FM radio receivers and repairing of house hold items which belonged to my family or friends and neighbours. Thereafter, I operated a 'repair shop'.

Today (currently) I provide high-tech electronic services to origanizations involved in manufacturing or businesses which deal in hi-tech equipment and/or services.

I have been actively involved in HAM radio.

Computer Electronics:

In 1980, (personal) computers we just being introduced to Sri Lanka and the rest of the world. Very soon, I acquired my own personal computer and was on the way to repairing computers and building various devices to be controlled by computers. A worthy note is that all these devices and repairs required programming skills. Since computers at that time was anything but user friendy, this required me to acquire programming skills in assembly language (programming the microprocessor in its own language). The microprocessors of that time were the Z80s, 6502s and MC68XXs. Then came the IBM PC and the complete aquisition of the Intel X86 assembly language skills and the various arcitectures that followed to date.

Since then, I have repaired, designed and developed many computer-electronics (based) devices and have accepted any challenge a customer would put forward to me and executed all such challenges successfully!

I use my electronic troubleshooting, designing and development skills to provide services to factories (manufacturing organizations) in trouble shooting and servicing the equipment/machinery. Please see the machinery section.

  My current goal:

Is to serve organizations or investors  who require  an individual with electronics and multiple technical skills and corporate skills to build or support the enterprise by overseeing, training and managing the facility by using hands on methods as and when required.

  Specific Details/Summary:

  Repairing Televisions (PAL, NTSC 3.58, 4.43, SECAM) and Video Equipment, Radios, Communication equipment, Computers, Computer peripherals (including hard disk drives, CD R and RW).

  Designing and building stand alone devices to control machinery, or devices such as sales-promotional games, computer controlled devices, radio and communication equipment, security devices.

  Recommending on devices and equipment to procure for projects such as TV stations, Satellite Television Receive Only projects, Factories which manufacture food and consumer durables, Telecommunications service provides and IT policies of corporates.

  Recommending of tools and service equipment required for workshops in factories which are increasingly dependent on electronics as much as their dependency on Lathe Machines and Air-Compressors..

  Training and providing customer support services by assisting on on-line configuration of devices. Training of technical staff of customers.

  I have experience with MOST/ALL discreet components from Analogue to Digital electronics.
