Communications: PC (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi) Networks, Television Stations, STVRO, Telephony and VOIP service providers (not to mention a little bit of HAM Radio).

If you have read the previous sections it would be  obvious to you by now that I would have had extensive experience in PC networks.

I have implemented and supported networks which were coaxial based and thereafter CAT-5 based to Wi-Fi technology based networks and servers. Where others struggled (especially with Coaxial cable networks) I excelled becuase of my knowledge in radio communications and radio frequency behavioural  patterns.

In 1991, the government of Sri Lanka gave  permission for private companies to operate TV stations. I was contracted by one such company to be their engineer. I used my knowledge of consumer and industrial grade Audio, Video and also my knowledge of transmission (my HAM radio work paid off here) equipment to procure equipment for the station within budget. I did many task, as always, using a 'hands-on' approach. The ultimate result being a viable TV station.

During this same period, I headed an STVRO services providing project. This was a challenging task as the signals were at -23db and the minimum required dish diameter was 16 feet. This was a huge dish to be transported. I prefected the method of manufacturing these dishes into 8 components to be assembled at the customers site, thereby reducing transport and installation cost.

I have also been consulted for the development of wide area Wi-Fi networks and other project which involve CDMA, Satellite pay TV, etc.

My latest project is the setting up of an internet telephony service provider by providing my service on most of my skills. This technology will enable many services such as Voice, Fax, Video, etc to be provided via the internet.
